My first time performing in My Fair Lady in Budleigh Salterton Public Hall with the Imperial Production peeps was very enjoyable and rewarding. A musical based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, directed by Kirsty Bennett. A thoroughly well crafted score and script by the authors, and show design by Kirsty and her design team. The cast and crew were fantastic to work with, and great evening banter followed in the local Feathers pub. Some cast were some faces old, but mostly new.
Spending rehearsal time in London, and arriving in Budleigh Salterton on Saturday 21st, followed by a very full rehearsal routine, which included technical and dress rehearsals, which was followed by our opening night on Wednesday 25th, which was well received. We had great audience responses throughout all five performances, with a sellout on the final production. We also spent time exploring the local sea-side town.
Thoroughly hope to venture with these peeps in the future.
